Job Description

This is an opportunity to work on Community Radio (Sheffield Live! 93.2FM). The station currently broadcasts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday on the internet, and additionally on other days for special broadcasts. They are also building up to broadcasting 7 days a week on FM radio. There are two opportunities, duty manager and reception. Duty managing involves listening to broadcasts and monitoring the content and sound quality; assisting presenters and guests in the studio and sorting out any technical/sound problems that may arise. Reception involves working on the front of house reception desk at The Drum. The post involves being the first point of contact for both personal and telephone callers. The main duties include taking messages for members of staff, providing information to the public, logging service users onto the Drum's computer network and assisting them with computer use where necessary.

Hours: The centre is open Monday - Friday 10 am - 6 pm. Duty managers must be prepared to work unsociable hours. Reception work is available in 2 or 4 hour slots

Pay: Voluntary.

 

Job Requirements

Must be 18+ and interested in learning about and working in community radio. Duty managers must be willing to work unsociable hours and have the initiative to work on their own.

Job Description

The UK's leading practical environmental charity has opened its first charity retail store, in Sheffield 11.  The shop will sell a range of products including clothing and some horticultural goods.  Volunteering opportunities are available for sales assistants, stockroom assistants, drivers, drivers mates, seamstress/seamster and fashion students. 

Hours:  Various, usually within 9am – 5pm.

Pay:  Unpaid - voluntary. Expenses covered.

Job Requirements

An interest in retail or the related occupations outlined above, good communication skills.  May be of interest to people who are keen to get some work experience within the retail industry.

Job Description

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience volunteering in Sheffield and the surrounding area. There are a range of projects which benefit the local community. The Royal Voluntary Service offer a range of opportunities, including supporting patients, staff and visitors at our Hospital projects, located throughout the City. Will be working on our community based projects providing vital outreach services to the elderly and vulnerable. Will be part of our local Emergency Services teams, who work with the Local Authorities and 'Blue Light' services in times of crisis and distress. Volunteering with the Royal Voluntary Service can make a real difference to the lives of both the young people involved and the people that they help. It is flexible, rewarding and great fun and can provide significant benefits towards future career and employment aspirations.

Training: Full induction and training, with the opportunity to gain recognised certificates for volunteering.

Hours: Flexible

Pay: Voluntary.

Job Requirements

Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn, be an excellent communicator who enjoys listening and must have some spare time that you want to put to good use.
