Job Description

YASY are now recruiting for a study programme which is aimed at teenage mums.  This will help prepare you for employment or further education or training.  Included on the course will be 1:1 support from YASY, enrichment activities including art, sewing, cooking, day trips, baby first aid, work experience and mother and baby activities.


Training: Health & Social Care and Childcare Level 1 qualification.  Certificate in Baby First Aid as well as improving your numeracy and literacy skills.  YASY will provide 1:1 support.  

Hours:  3 days/week, 10am - 3pm.  Duration the course is 39 weeks.  

Incentives:  May be eligible for a £40 Bursary.  Free child care (YASY will help you find suitable childcare if you need it) and clothing allowance.

 

Job Requirements

Must be 16 - 18 years of age, with a baby.

Job Description

This qualification is FREE and will help you to learn about the skills needed for bringing up your baby or young child. Join in practical activities including chatter matters, belly casting, guest speakers, out of centre visits including The Jessop Hospital, baby massage and pregnancy yoga; You'll also get the chance to refresh your English and maths, get help you look for your next course and have fun meeting young parents.

Training: Gain an accredited qualification Level 1 Award in Parenting, while doing fun and practical activities.  The units cover areas such as Developing Communication and Literacy with children, Healthy Eating for Children, Developing Relationships and Play with Children and Career Progression.

Hours:  An 8 week course for 2 days per at Early Days Children's Centre at Parson Cross. Other courses will be running across the Sheffield area.

Incentives:  Free course.  Should be able to get help with childcare costs through Care to Learn.

Must be 16—24 and pregnant or a parent to a young baby.
