If you are home alone there are a few things you can do to make sure you stay safe:

• Make sure a parent or carer knows that you are in the house by yourself
• If there is  a knock at the door either use the peephole on the door (if you have one) or ask who’s there before you consider opening the door
• Don’t advertise you are home alone on social networking websites like Bebo or MySpace
• Make sure you have emergency phone numbers in easy reach (or stored on your mobile)
