Child Sexual Exploitation Programme

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) is an increasingly high profile issue that can have devastating consequences for young people from all backgrounds and communities. The specialist CSE service at Sheffield Futures offers this programme to help young people to understand when they might be in danger and how to keep safe.

Aims and Objectives:

  • Reduce risk of sexual exploitation
  • Promote protective behaviour and resilience
  • Encourage participation in positive, healthy relationships
  • Raise awareness of sexual exploitation, signs of grooming and the consequences of taking risks

Suitable for:

All young people aged 12 – 19 years and in particular those who:

  • Periodically go missing from home
  • Have poor/patchy school attendance
  • Demonstrate low self-esteem
  • Display high risk behaviour

National Curriculum:

  • Key Stage 3 and 4: PSHE > Non-statutory

Sample Programme:

  • Session 1 – Warm up and positive relationships
  • Session 2 – Grooming: DVD and discussion
  • Session 3 – E-Safety: Risks of being online
  • Session 4 – Risky behaviour: Traffic light exercise
  • Session 5 – Self esteem: Media pressures and workshops
  • Session 6 – Wrap up: Strategies for empowerment

Based on a 6 session programme of 90 minutes per session, for 8 young people. Price includes delivery by qualified youth workers, resources, refreshments, delivery venue and accreditation.
