Sheffield Futures can help support your business if you take on a young person through the Kickstart Scheme. What is Kickstart and how can we help? Read on to find out more.
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit, and is part of the UK Government’s Plan for Jobs. Its purpose is to mitigate the devastating impact the Coronavirus pandemic has had on businesses and youth employment.
Between November 2020 and December 2021 UK employers can hire a young person with their wages fully funded for six months. There is no limit to the number of employees an employer may take on through the scheme, and £1500 is provided to fund training and support.
There is no obligation to offer permanent employment after the six-month period, meaning Kickstart offersbusinesses value and flexibility.
How can the Kickstart Scheme benefit your organisation?
100% wage incentivised youth talent for six months
Accessible talent pipeline
No obligation to offer permanent employment
Free £1,500 training budget for your Kickstart employees
