To work at a company, located in Ecclesfield, who are seeking to recruit apprentices to be trained as highly skilled machinists (both manual and CNC) producing complex, precision machined components for large fabrications and forged castings for a range of industries across all sectors in heavy engineering.

1. To be an effective/efficient highly skilled machinist in a small to medium
engineering environment.
2. Set and run the relevant machine.
3. Self-check inspection and parts produced.
4. To load and off-load finished items to machine.
5. To always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent
personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.
6. Along with a number of associated duties with the role.
7. Reporting to department managers/mentors and training officer.


Requirements:  Minimum 2 GCSE’s including maths and English at grades D-E/2-3 and above. Willing to learn, hardworking, punctual, attentive to detail and self- disciplined.  Responsible and able to balance the demands of the learning programme and those of the working environment are all essential. Able to display an interest in either mechanical/engineering hobbies, interests or experience would be an advantage.


Training:  Apprenticeship Improving Operational Performance: Performing Engineering Operations.  College attendance will be required at either/or both The Sheffield College, Olive Grove Centre in central Sheffield and the Liberty Academy, Stocksbridge.

Hours:  38 hours per week – Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 15:30, with a 30 minute lunch break – Friday: 07:00 – 13:00.


Pay:  £187.50/week.
