An entry into the engineering industry with this long established sheet metal company, located in Sheffield 9.  You will have the interest and passion for a hands on workshop based role to develop sought after skills in sheet metal, light fabrication to fulfil bespoke customer orders. Will develop basic skills of punching, drilling, welding techniques – including Mig and Tig.

Reporting to the Director, duties will include:
– Working safely and to set business constraints and policies.
– Workshop housekeeping.
– Learn and develop skills in punching, drilling and welding materials – sheet metal to bespoke client details.
– Set up of machinery.
– Report any faults and maintenance issues.
– Log off the job learning hours as part of the apprenticeship programme.

 

Requirements:  4 GCSE grade A*-C or numerical equivalents in English Language and maths. Interest in engineering in general.  Self drive with passion for the job and results. Punctual, good team player, flexible with a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the job.

 

Training:  Extended Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Level 3.  College attendance at Sheffield College – Stocksbridge Training Centre 1 day per week in term time.

 

Hours:  Mon-Fri 7.00am-3.30pm, 40 hours.

 

Pay:  £148/week.
