This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading supplier of products within the garden and DIY sector, located in Sheffield 3. Would suit you if you have the drive to make the difference, enjoy being busy and learning new skills. The role involves working closely with others in the warehouse environment, understanding the importance of team work, processes and making sure that the work is carried out within time frames set.

 

Duties/overview of what is required on the apprenticeship.

Loading – Unloading containers, picking of orders and packing products for dispatch.

Packaging – This skill will help understand waste and packing goods for storage within the warehouse.

Equipment – To understand the use of pallet trucks – ride on pallet trucks for picking.

IT – Use IT systems within the workplace, data capture, and stock control barcoding systems.

Safety – Understand the safety within the working environment, adhere to the health and safety protocols, and understand housekeeping rules.

Values – Team work, correct attitude, attention to detail, working with the sales office.

Personal attributes – Must be physically able to carry out the demands of the role and work efficiently within a team.

 

Requirements:  Confident at using IT systems.  Able to understand and adhere to health and safety protocols within the working environment. Able to work as part of a team with positive attitude with attention to detail. Must be physically able to carry out the demands of the role and work efficiently within a team. Willingness to learn new skills, attention to detail, good time keeping and good communication skills.

 

Training:  Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Warehouse Operative. The learning provider is The Source Skills Academy.

 

Hours:  40 hours/week, Monday – Friday.

 

Pay:  £168/week.
