Sports  Level 2

The course is designed for anyone 16 – 18 with a keen interest in sport, in particular football, who wants to follow an exciting career in the football workforce including refereeing, coaching, playing or physiotherapy.  The course will provide the opportunity to develop a range of practical skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life in this area.

1 year duration and will include a hands on work placement.

 

Sports & Exercise Science  Level 3

The course is designed for anyone 16 – 18 with an interest in sport, in particular football, who wants to gain a qualification to go into employment within the football industry as a player or other areas including sports rehabilitation, nutrition, coaching, strength and conditioning, refereeing or onto a higher education course/degree.  The qualification gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin study of the sport and exercise science sector with a key focus on football, and give leaners additional breadth and depth to prepare them fully for further study or entry into the football industry.

2 year duration and will include a work placement.

Programmes start September 2020.

 

Requirements:  Aged 16 – 18, with a keen interest in sport (in particular football) and a desire to work within the football industry in the longer term.

For BTEC Level 3 – 5 GCSE grade C/Level 4 or above, or equivalent required.

 

Training:  As outlined above.  The above courses will be delivered with the help of an ex-professional footballer.

 

Hours:  Full time.

 

Incentives:  Bursary if applicable.
