On the 10 day course you will cover the following topics:

-The basics of starting work in the construction industry.

– Health and safety.

– Working as part of a team.

– Moving and handling resources.

– Preparing for interview.

– Improving your CV and job applications.

– BTEC Level 1 in Construction portfolio.

– Preparation for your CSCS test.

– A construction recruitment agency will be invited into the course to speak to learners.

 

Requirements:  Age 19+ and in receipt of Universal Credit, JSA or Employment Support Allowance.  Must have been a resident in the UK for 3 or more years. Must not have a Level 3 qualification.

 

Training: You will achieve a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction with additional work skills units. You will be able to take your Health, Safety and Environment Labourer test which could result in you gaining the L1 Award CSCS (Green Card).

 

 Hours:  10 day course, start date Monday 5th November 10am – 3pm.  Course takes place in Sheffield 1.
