This is a great opportunity to kick start your career with a pre-apprenticeship/employability programme for young people aged 16 to 24.  You will be based at The Source at Meadowhall initially, but your time will then be split between a quality work experience placement and with The Source. On the programme you will gain work placement preparation, CV writing, job search skills and interview practice, as well as hands on work experience.  At the end of the programme you will have the chance to be linked to real apprenticeship and/or job opportunities.

The next start date is 1st August 2018.


Requirements:  Must be aged 16 – 18 and not currently, education, work or training or aged 19 – 24 and be unemployed and claiming JSA or Universal Credit. You should not be qualified above level 2 and should be looking for the right apprenticeship/job.  Must be interested in and committed to gaining work placement to help you to move onto an apprenticeship or into work.  May suit you if you are looking for support to find the perfect career paths.


Training:  The programme provides training in employability, customer service and sector specific training.  You will also work on interview techniques and will be supported in applying for vacancies.  You will also spend approximately 8 weeks, usually over 2-3 days per week in your chosen sector of work on a high quality work placement.  You will also be able to improve your Functional Skills in maths and English at level 1 and/or level 2 depending on your requirements.


Hours:  Full time. The average duration of the traineeship is around 12 weeks.


Incentives:  Travel and lunch included.  Bursary available to eligible learners.
