A fantastic opportunity has been made available for a Performing Manufacturing Operations Apprentice to work at world’s premier manufacturer of specialist wood working tools with a heritage dating back over two hundred years. The job is located in Sheffield 8.You will be involved in a wide range of duties which will include using power tools and machinery to assembly of products.

Reporting to the Managing Director, duties will include:
– Operation of different types of machinery.
– Operation of hand/power tools.
– Assembly.
– Carrying out several tasks within the same shift.
– Completing various stages of production from raw material to finished products.
– Operating production line equipment.
– Quality Inspection and measurement of products.
– Hand finishing products.
– Helping with the storing goods and raw materials in storage areas.
– Inspection and measurement of raw materials.
– Cleaning and maintaining work areas and machinery.
– Reporting equipment faults to maintenance staff.

– Possibility of full time employment subject to successful completion of Apprenticeship.

 

Requirements:  Minimum of 5 GCSEs, or numbered equivalent, A-D grades including English and maths.  Meticulous and able to work independently with minimum supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact well with others in a cross functional environment. Resourceful, result-oriented and strong sense of responsibility with initiative.

 

Training:  Intermediate Level Apprenticeship Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations, City and Guilds L2 Certificate in Manufacturing Practices.  The learning provider is The Sheffield College.

 

Hours:  37.5 hours/week, Mon – Fri. Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am – 1pm

 

Pay:  £138.75/week.
