 This programme is aimed at 16-18 year olds who require additional skills, work experience or qualifications to help progress onto an apprenticeship, college course or employment.  Learners will receive lots of support, gain work experience in your area of interest and have the chance to gain qualifications. The programme will include job search and a work experience placement that is designed to support learners into employment or apprenticeship opportunities.  Additional job seeking support will be provided such as CV completion, cover letters, application support, interview preparation, plus advice and guidance throughout the programme. CTS is located in Sheffield City Centre.

Starts September 2020

 

Requirements:  16 – 18 years of age. There are no entry requirements for this programme.   CTS will complete an initial assessment to determine suitability for the course which will cover English, Maths and ICT. Initial assessment will determine the level of qualification best suited for the learner.

 

Training: CTS are planning to offer students some face-to-face teaching as well as some virtual/remote learning. As part of the enrolment process, CTS will establish what support needs the learner requires to be able to learn remotely.

Various levels of qualifications available including:

Certificate in Personal and Social Development (Entry 2 – Level 1)

Extended Award in Employability (Entry 3 & Level 1)

Certificate in Employability (Level 2)

Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT at the right level for the learner (Entry 1 – Level 2).

ESOL Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing (Entry 1 – Entry 3).

GCSE English and Maths available, subject to assessment.

Hours:  Minimum of 12 hours/week for between 12 to 52 weeks to be agreed with each learner on an individual basis.

Incentives: Depending upon eligibility you will receive concessionary travel pass, 16 – 19 Bursary Fund for costs associated towards training e.g. interview clothes/travel.  Applications for lunch vouchers will be considered.
