Get your hands on all the gear in state-of-the-art training studios and learn the tricks of the trade from music industry professionals on the Level 2 Study Programme. Choose from Music Technology or Performance Skills study routes to develop the techniques and knowledge needed to succeed in the music industry.

 

Music Technology

– Sequencing and sampling

– Audio recording

– Dance music production

– DJ skills and DJ technology

– Studio recording techniques

– Gain invaluable knowledge in music technology as a whole

 

Music Performance Skills

– Preparing, developing and taking part in a performance, either as a solo performer or in a band

– Live sound and concert production

– Song writing and arranging music

– Promotion and the music industry

– Coping with anxiety and performance improvement techniques

– Singing and instrumental training

– Gain invaluable knowledge in music performance as a whole

 

Requirements:  16 – 18 years of age.  Will need to be committed to attend the full course and must have a genuine interest in music or music performance.

 

Training:  Will work towards achieving  NCFE Music Technology Certificate or  Performance Skills Certificate Level 2, plus Functional Skills in Maths and English (if you don’t have a GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths or English). Will have the opportunity to gain work experience and develop practical skills for the work place.

 

Hours:  Full time programme.  The duration of the programme is 1 academic year.

 

Incentives:  Some learners may be able to access bursary funding, if eligible.

 

BTEC Level 3 Study Programme

(Extended Diploma in Music Technology)

– Gain an internationally recognised qualification which is valued by employers and universities.

– The course includes studio recording techniques, DJ performance and technology mixing and mastering techniques, DAW production, music technology in performance and much more.

– You will be taught by industry professionals with a wealth of up to date experience working within the music industry and offer excellent opportunities to meet others in the music sector.

– As part of the enrichment programme, those who stay for the 2nd year of the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma will even have the opportunity to be involved in the fringe: Tramlines Festival.

 

Requirements:  16 – 18 years of age. Requirement of 5 GCSE grade 4 and above including maths and English. Aimed at students who wish to further their education and go onto degree level studies or wish to have a career in the music industry.

 

Training: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology.  Will have the opportunity to gain work experience and develop practical skills for the work place.

 

Hours:  1 – 2 years full time.
