A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for a company which design, manufacture and erection of timber frame structures at their Sheffield 13 office.

The successful candidate will join the Business Development Team.  Will need to be computer literate and must have experience using Microsoft Excel, and have an understanding of planning and construction drawings.

Key elements of this role include estimating timber frame projects for potential clients, overseeing the process from enquiry through to completion of quotation, giving consideration to client’s needs and anticipating any possible engineering oddities within the project.  This will include liaising with specialist firms when procuring quotations for elements outside the company’s field.   Experience of using Office Excel spreadsheets, including formulas is essential to this role.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Sales Team to ensure that the project requirements are clearly defined, with the administration team to support the processing of quotations and with the buying department to keep up to date with material rates.  On occasion the candidate may have to assist the Design/Architectural Team and answer the telephone if required.


Requirements: The successful applicant for this role will have:

Basic mathematics and English skills at GCSE grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.

A keen interest in building techniques and sustainability.

A good communicator working alongside colleagues, clients, architects and erectors.

Have excellent work attendance record.

Must have a genuine interest in construction and have good computer skills (Office/Excel).


Training:  Following on from a successful probationary period, will be enrolled onto a BTEC Diploma L3 in Construction Management which is expected to start in September 2020 and will involve day release to a college.


Hours: Full time for 40 hours/week.


Pay:  Will meet with at least National Minimum/Living Wage according to age (under 18 £4.35/hour, 18 – 20 £6.15/hour, 21 – 24 £7.70/hour, 25 and over £8.21/hour).
