This traineeship is based with a local building company, located in Sheffield 35.  The company specialise in home improvements including preparing houses for the rental market, heating repairs and upgrades, domestic rewires, design and building work, extensions and gardening.  You will gain hands on work experience where you will work alongside experienced plasterers, joiners, plumbers, kitchen and bathroom fitters learning all aspects of their trade.


Requirements: Must be aged 16 to 19, not have previously completed a traineeship.  Must not currently hold any qualification at Level 3 or above. Must not be in employment/training at another provider at the start of the CTS traineeship.  Due to the nature of the work placement will need to be able to lift loads. Must be genuinely looking for very hands on /manual work.  Good attention to detail, good numeracy skills, hard-working, reliable and friendly.


Training:  You will work towards English and / or maths Functional Skills, if required, as part of the traineeship with CTS.


Hours:  2 – 3 days/week with the employer, plus time at CTS if you need to work on your maths and/or English.  Expected duration is around 12 weeks.

  Unpaid, CTS will cover your bus fares. Bursary available for eligible learners.
