Are you looking to start your career in engineering maintenance? If so, a company located in Sheffield 20 have a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated person who wants to succeed.

The Apprentice will report to the Warehouse Manager and will be part of the Workshop team. Day to day duties will include the maintenance of returned power tools, fault diagnosing mechanical & electrical products, repairing faulting equipment and maintaining high levels of health and safety.

Overall role / main function of the job is to support the Workshop team in repairing returned products in a safe and timely manner. Duties include:

– To work as part of a team to repair returned products.
– Collaborate effectively with the Customer Service team to record repairs.
– Work to deadlines and targets whilst working safely, following health & safety procedures.
– Deal with internal & external telephone enquiries.
– Maintain high levels of site house-keeping.
– Maintain high levels of health and safety and report any concerns to Warehouse and Workshop Manager immediately.
– Actively work towards to the overall company objectives, and work in collaboration with other Evolution employees to ensure continuous improvement.
– Any other ad/hoc tasks when required; which may include helping in the warehouse or visiting tradeshows.

 

Requirements:  Minimum of 4 GCSE or equivalent A-D grades including English and maths.  Good communication skills, team player, good level of numeracy, able to pay attention to detail and to problem solve, ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.   Basic IT skills in Excel / Word / Outlook desirable. May be required to travel occasionally.

 

Training:   NVQ level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations.  C&G level 2 Certificate in Engineering, Functional ICT level 2.  The learning provider is The Sheffield College.

Hours:  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm, with ½ hour lunch and 2×15 minute breaks.

 

Pay:  £200.00/week.
