Sheffield Futures CEO Awarded Prestigious Fellowship

Tash Bright No Comment

We are very pleased to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Gail Gibbons, has been awarded the prestigious ACEVO Fellowship for 2016/17. With only five awards given out, we couldn’t be more proud of her achievement.

The ACEVO Fellowships aim to champion inspirational and emerging leaders from across the country, identifying those who deserve greater recognition for their work and achievements locally, nationally and internationally. Each Fellowship receives a training and support package.

John Doyle, chair of the Sheffield Futures Board of Trustees, who nominated Gail Gibbons for the award, said: “Gail has led us through a challenging period of change which required tremendous vision, strong values and a focus on improving the lives of young people. The strengthening of Sheffield Futures as a learning organisation with staff engagement at all levels and a focus on young people’s voice has been essential. Gail is without doubt an inspirational leader across both the organisation she leads, the stakeholders who she works closely with and the wider community of interest across Sheffield and our region.”

Gail Gibbons said: “I am delighted to have been nominated for the ACEVO Fellowship Award. ACEVO is the UKs leading network for charity and social enterprise leaders and it is a real honour to receive this recognition. As well as providing me with a valuable development opportunity, it has also raised the profile of Sheffield Futures and all the great work that we do across our local communities.”

Henrietta Baldock, Chair of Leadership Trust Foundation said: “Our congratulations to all the fellows on this much deserved award.  At the Leadership Trust we have always believed that leadership is critical to the health of an organisation and that healthier organisations contribute more to society. We also believe that leadership is something which can be learned, developed and improved by everyone so I hope that the awards will help the recipients and their organisations make an even greater contribution.”
