Peer Connectors x2
Salary: £29,208.93 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Term: Fixed-term until 31st March 2027
Location: Hybrid working (Home / Star House - Sheffield City Centre)
We are looking for two Peer Connectors to deliver our Sheffield Peer Connector service, working alongside a range of local organisations including Colleges and Youth Hubs to identify and engage with young people aged 16-24. Using an existing service directory, you will continue to build on a database of local activities and co-develop bespoke support plans with young people to engage them in these services, to improve wellbeing and young people’s independence and self-management.
Ultimately, you’ll be sharing in our goal to improve the wellbeing and employment of young people through early intervention and advocacy. Working closely with a range of partner organisations, both voluntary and statutory, you will help young people receive the right support at the right time.
The role is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2027, however we are hoping for funding beyond then which will be confirmed nearer the time.
About the project
Our mental health and wellbeing service, Door 43, aims to improve access to emotional, psychological, physical and wider wellbeing interventions for all young people aged 13-25, particularly those from vulnerable groups that may experience barriers to accessing support, or who require support through periods of transition.
The Sheffield Peer Connector service sits within Door 43, supporting young people aged 16-24 with mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence who are:
In education but have periods of absence (5-15% of school days)
In employment but have had frequent absences (3+ fit notes per year)
Struggling to enter the workplace (actively job-seeking for 4+ months)
This support is delivered through peer-led, personalised, and community-based approaches that promote wellbeing, build confidence, and connect young people to local services, opportunities, and networks. This is a really exciting opportunity to get immersed in the local community and improve outcomes for young people. Does this sound like you?
