This is the first of what I hope will be a regular blog, allowing me to reflect on, appreciate and promote the work we are doing here at Sheffield Futures. 

The role of CEO affords me the opportunity to use various platforms to celebrate the magnificent collection of individuals I work with. 

As this is the first blog we are sharing, it seems fitting to start with the immediate past whilst it still looms large in my memory. 

This summer, Door 43 is bringing the good vibes to Sheffield city centre with the launch of the Festival of Wellbeing, a free summer programme packed with workshops, activities and events for young people aged 13-25. 

Referrals for young people now open, and local employers urged to back young talent by offering placements.

Madison previously ran the Sheffield 10K for us and is now taking on an even bigger challenge with the Sheffield Half Marathon. After moving to Sheffield to study at Sheffield Hallam University, the city has become a second home to her over the past three years. 

As an aspiring secondary school teacher, Madison is passionate about supporting young people and making sure they feel seen and heard. Fundraising for us has given her the opportunity to combine that passion with her love of running. We caught up with Madison to hear more about her motivation, her fundraising experience and why our work means so much to her.

After taking on the Sheffield 10K for us last year, Nathan is stepping up to the challenge once again, this time at the Sheffield Half Marathon! A proud Sheffielder with strong ties to the local community, he’s passionate about creating equal opportunities for young people across the city. We spoke to Nathan about his motivation, training and what fundraising for Sheffield Futures means to him.
